This page describes how PrepAI actually works today and is published so nothing is hidden. It has not been through legal review, and PrepAI is not open for paid signups. Treat it as a statement of current practice, not a binding policy.

Students under 18

PrepAI is built for Class XII students, so most people using it are under 18. India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act treats anyone under 18 as a child and requires a parent or guardian to consent before their data is processed.

PrepAI does not yet collect that consent, and no parental-consent record exists. Until it does, PrepAI remains a free pilot, collects the minimum listed below, runs no advertising or behavioural tracking of any kind, and will delete a student's data on request from the student or their parent.

What is collected

  • Email address and password

    Account creation and sign-in.

    Supabase Auth. PrepAI never stores or sees your password.

  • Display name, board, and class level

    To select the right syllabus and questions.

    Your PrepAI profile row.

  • Practice activity — questions served, answers submitted, review ratings, mistakes

    To schedule revision and show you what to practise next.

    Your PrepAI study records, readable only by you.

What is never collected

  • Phone number, postal address, or government ID.
  • Payment card details. Paid checkout is not open, and card data would be handled by the payment provider, never by PrepAI.
  • Location, contacts, camera, microphone, or anything from other apps.
  • Behavioural advertising identifiers. There are no third-party ad or analytics trackers in this product.

Retention

Study records are kept while the account is open, because spaced repetition depends on your review history. When an account is deleted, the profile and study records tied to it are deleted with it. PrepAI does not keep a separate analytics copy.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be erased. A parent or guardian may make the same request for their child.

Requests go through support. Self-service export and deletion are not built yet; requests are handled manually until they are.
